Materials & Care

For us, furniture making is both a creative art and a craft. It is a pursuit we take great pride in, which is why it is exceptionally important to us that all “of the WOOD furniture” pieces are manufactured using only the highest quality materials. To ensure you enjoy our aesthetic and durable furniture for as long as possible, we recommend following a few simple care guidelines.

Oak

In our production, we use premium grade solid oak or oak veneer. Such oak is nearly free of knots and cracks. Oak is a natural material with a unique pattern visible on the furniture surface, giving every piece its own original character. Oak is a hardwood, so it is resistant to water and fungi.

How to care for oak furniture?

  • Do not use chemical cleaners.
  • Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe the furniture surfaces.
  • If water spills on the surface, wipe it off as quickly as possible. Do not leave water on the surface for an extended period.
  • Do not place very hot dishes directly on the surface. For example, do not place a dish straight from the oven onto the tabletop.

Leather

We work with some of the finest leather suppliers in Lithuania to ensure the highest quality. For our furniture production, we use leather sourced from Italy. Leather is a natural product and may feature unique markings, such as wrinkles or scars. These are not considered defects; on the contrary, they serve as proof of the leather’s natural origin. Leather may also vary slightly in tone, which is also not considered a defect.

How to care for leather furniture?

  • Do not use chemical cleaners.
  • Use a damp cloth, water, and soap to clean leather surfaces. You can also use specialized leather cleaning products.

Glass

We use tempered glass in our furniture production. This is thermally treated glass with mechanical resistance 5–6 times higher than that of regular, untreated glass. This makes the glass significantly more resistant to mechanical impact, high temperatures, and thermal fluctuations. If broken, tempered glass shatters into many small pieces that are not as sharp as regular glass shards.

Colors

We use wood stain to achieve our colors. All surfaces are also coated with a protective layer of lacquer, providing extra resistance against minor scratches.

Metal

We primarily use metal for furniture legs. We always use powder coating for metal parts to ensure maximum quality and resistance to environmental factors.

Push-to-open

Our nightstands, chests of drawers, and other pieces with handle-free doors or drawers are equipped with a push-to-open system to ensure maximum comfort. Doors and drawers open with a gentle press, eliminating the need for handles.
